Thrive Budo

The Challenge

Thrive Budo is a martial arts dojo based in Preston, VIC, offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido, and youth programs. They needed a distinctive brand identity that reflected their unique blend of traditional discipline and modern mindset. The goal was to create a campaign that worked seamlessly across digital and physical touchpoints – without losing authenticity.

My Solution

I developed a complete brand and campaign system that fused grit with clarity – mirroring the philosophy of Budo itself.

I created:

  • A bold, versatile visual identity
  • A modular logo system (primary, monogram, and Japanese lockup)
  • A UI concept for a clean, modern homepage design
  • A full suite of social media templates (posts, stories, and carousels)
  • A 12-piece tiled poster series for out-of-home and street activations
  • Custom gi mockups and branded clothing concepts, extending the brand into wearable form.

The campaign paired raw, halftone textures with minimalist Zen-inspired pattern work – building a brand world that feels both grounded and powerful.

The Results

The new identity positioned Thrive Budo as a modern dojo with discipline at its core. The street poster series created strong local visibility, while the digital assets brought cohesion across social and web. The work elevated Thrive Budo’s presence and helped attract a broader student base – without losing connection to its martial roots.
