The Challenge

Gold Fern Honey is a small, family-run New Zealand business entering the highly competitive Manuka honey market. With plans to launch on Amazon US and build a presence in Australia and the USA, they needed a complete visual identity that would stand out in a saturated category, communicate trust and quality, and appeal to global consumers without losing their New Zealand roots.

My Solution

I managed the full creative direction, branding, design rollout, food styling, and photography direction for Gold Fern Honey. The goal was to create a bold, premium identity that felt natural, trustworthy, and export-ready.

The visual system included logo design, colour palette, typography, UMF and MGO indicators, packaging concepts, and messaging that balanced boutique charm with commercial appeal. I also directed the product photography, ensuring the food styling and art direction aligned seamlessly with the brand’s premium yet authentic tone.

I rolled out the full suite of assets across:

  • Product packaging (including Manuka honey pottles)
  • Amazon storefront design
  • Branded infographics and icon sets
  • Social media templates
  • eCommerce and advertising touchpoints

The final brand is clean, flexible, and built to perform across physical retail and digital platforms like Amazon USA, while proudly celebrating its New Zealand origin.
