My Role

UI Designer – Interface Layouts, Visual System, Interactive map

Overview

Dull is a cybersecurity brand that flips the typical tech-startup tone on its head. Instead of overhyping disruption or fear, it leans into dry minimalism, boring reliability, and quiet confidence. The brand promise: no drama, just security.

The Challenge

Most cybersecurity brands either feel aggressively technical or overbranded with flashy gimmicks. Dull wanted to do the opposite. The challenge was to design a digital experience that felt stripped-back, unfussy, and clearly structured, without becoming visually bland or forgettable.

The Solution

As part of the Digital team at Mo Works, I helped bring the Dull brand to life through interface design and layout development. I worked on page structure, icon systems, and minimalist typographic styling that made the product easy to understand without overexplaining.

I also contributed to an interactive “hover-map” concept. It was a visual way of showing how Dull integrates with different industries and workflows. The system relied on clean grid logic, light UX microinteractions, and deadpan copy to deliver personality through restraint.

The Results
  • Delivered clean, responsive layout system
  • Interactive industry map helped demonstrate product fit
  • Helped position Dull as a standout in a saturated cybersecurity market
  • Internal dev team praised system clarity and ease of handoff

*Work completed as part of the team at Mo Works.
